Czechia

Postnatal Growth

The PDF file below was downloaded from the Czech State Health Department. It is written in English and Czech.

Czechia performs a national survey for use in public health and the creation of growth charts every ten years. The charts in the file below are based on data from the survey done in 2001. At the time, Czech public health authorities decided that using certain weight-related data from the 1991 survey was preferable to using the newer data. This was due to an increase in overweight among Czech children.

The file contains the following charts for boys and girls:

  • Body mass index (1991 and 2001 comparison)
  • Body length (0-24 months)
  • Height (0-18 years)
  • Body weight (0-18 years)
  • Head circumference (0-36 months)
  • Left arm circumference (0-36 months)
  • Left arm circumference (0-18 years)
  • Abdominal circumference (0-18 years)
  • Gluteal circumference (0-18 years)
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) (0-18 years)
  • Weight-for-height (50-100 cm)
  • Weight-for-height (100-160 cm)
  • Abdominal circumference for height (50-190 cm)

The charts begin on page 109. All of them are written in Czech and English.
